Web design is both an art and a science. The goal is to create a great looking website while still making sure that website visitors can find the information they are looking for. Working with you to understand your target audience, I can create a web design that will accomplish both goals. I’ll do it on budget and within our timeframe.

Web Design: The Process

I believe in creating websites that are effective, not ones that just look pretty. There is no point to an overly designed website if a user can’t find some simple contact information anywhere. A professional design mixed with user-centered goals is the main focus as we design and develop your new website.

Getting the Project Details
The most efficient way for me to get a website done is to understand who you are. Every project begins with a thorough discussion about every detail of your project from design to functionality. There is no wasted time on coming up with random design comps that are nowhere near what you like because the initial consultation will give us a clear road map for what you are looking for.

Why WordPress?

We have played with many CMS available both free, open-source and paid. One of the primary reasons we like WordPress is because of it’s huge community which improves the core functionality very quickly. They also provide a large plugin directory which extends the possibilities of WordPress with features like calendar systems, advanced contact forms and so much more. We have yet to run into a project that couldn’t be done in WordPress. Our very own website is powered by WordPress.

Also important is the ease-of-use in the administration area for our clients. We don’t want to hand over a website for you to maintain that requires a BS degree in Computer Science or even much training at all. Many of our clients don’t require any help from us to learn how to manage their website content with WordPress.

Enough words, check out our web design portfolio to see examples of the work. Keep mind that every website is custom designed based on each client’s requirements, existing brand and personal taste. Contact us and we’ll work with to create your own great looking, custom designed website.

Web development can incorporate all manner of evils. For this reason giving set costs of entire projects in this form is just not feasible. I can however give you an idea of what it costs.

Your basic new website will set you back about $2,400. This includes design work, development, basic search engine marketing research, and copy-and-paste content for four or five static pages. It also includes; all necessary training for you and your team to update your content management system, your first year of hosting, and priority technical support.

A few follow up questions I often get …

Do you do any hourly work?

Yes, but I don’t like to. Hourly work often leads to poorly communicated directives, hard to manage budgets, and “project creep”. The house rate is $125 an hour. However time can be pre-purchased in chunks at substantially reduced rates.
I have a website, but it needs a little touch up. Do you do that?

In short, no. In practice, yes, but not without throughly understand what I am going to be working with as far as code is concerned. In all honestly starting from scratch is often easier than trying to figure out a different developers process, and then overlay my own.
How much is hosting going to set me back every year?

The annual hosting charge is $240. That includes very minor updates to your site annually, a search engine check up, unlimited email accounts, and priority support. I do not resell hosting separately. You must be a development client in order to have access to my web-servers.
